"Music Learning Redefined."

Though not given the chance to go through formal training, the burning passion in music has not deterred Mr. Amos Teo, the founder of Hark Music, to pave his own way to develop his musical skills and continue to help others develop theirs.

Despite music education is something his family could not afford, at the age of 14, he took his entire savings of $600 and bought his first musical instrument, a Yamaha keyboard. He then started playing, singing and even composing solely based on what “sound right and nice”. Along the way, he was given various performing opportunities and soon propelled his musical skills to another level.

He started to lead a group of young performers, sharing his experience and musical journey of over 10 years with them. Through this process, he realised that a few important elements in learning music have been neglected in the conventional way of learning music as most people follow the 'old ways' blindly.

This led to the birth of Hark Music, which for Amos allowed him to impart his knowledge and experiences to music enthusiasts who wanted easy-to-understand teaching methods allowing them to fulfil their musical dreams quickly and with ease.

With his experience in performing publicly, Amos was certain that exposure was a key factor in being able to realise your true potential in music. Having a group of like-minded friends sharing the same passion is also a pushing factor in motivating oneself to excel into higher grounds.

Hence, he created a Performing Studio in Hark Music for him to conduct Live Shows and workshops regularly where students can gain the exposure and experience needed. On top of that, Hark Music also has a CD Resource Library for students to gain exposure to different kinds of music. That’s where Learning beyond Classroom starts!
