is what has been ingrained in me in the guitar and vocal
singing classes I¡¯ve attended in these 2 years of my
music journey with Hark Music. From a guy who thought
that he was a music retard, to a person now who can stand
up on stage and play live music to an audience. That is
what Hark Music has transformed me into¡.
The ultimate aim of me learning
music is to be able to stand up on a stage and strum
and sing to a crowd. Hark Music is the school that has

" My journey with Hark Music began in July 2007
when I took up their guitar course starting from the fundamentals.
Subsequently, after an audition for the Hark Performing
Team, I got through and had a chance to work with my fellow
team mate. Of course, everything wasn't all smooth-sailing
from the start, but because of the support of instructors,
classmates, and my team mate, everything went on track
gradually. Cheers to their helpful and supportive spirit!
Their facilities are complete with practice rooms, a recording
studio, and on top of that, a performing studio. These
are readily available, despite "peak-period"
times, where the rooms could be fully booked which is
understandable. The instruments, specifically the keyboards
and guitars, are adequate for our practice and lessons.
The instructors are well qualified, and all are most willing
to give advice anytime despite not being officially taught
by them. One good thing is that the school is not fully
commercialized such that it does not tend to sacrifice
passion for profit. Events like the Open Stage and the
Student's Showcase give students a chance to get exposure
on stage. This opportunity is rare and hardly found in
other schools.
In summary, I feel that Hark Music is not only a place
to pick up music skills, but a warm place where you can
make friends and meet people who are passionate about
music too. "

" I have enjoyed singing since young and soon realised
that singing is more than just having a nice voice. That
was when I decided to join Hark Music to learn proper
singing techniques. Though I am taking group lessons,
the instructors here recognise that every student is unique
and they always take time to address each individual's
problems. They are always willing to help us to improve.
Being a student performer in the Hark Music Performing
Team, I also get to apply what I have learnt in the classroom
to real life stage performances. I constantly learn new
things after every lesson and performance, which has allowed
me to benefit tremendously since I joined Hark Music.

" Hark Music has been exciting and enriching as a
music school. With frequent performance opportunities
and a high level of professionalism, it is indeed the
right way to go for both music newbies and masters. Its
staff are well-trained and talented and equally dedicated

and this gives it an advantage as opposed to other music
schools who charge exorbitant fees. It has great facilities

" I have been a part of Hark Music for the past
four years. I must say that it has changed a lot in these
four years. I remembered the first time I went to Hark
Music they only occupied the second floor. There wasn't
even a first floor! And performances are held on the second
floor, so everytime students came for lesson when there
are performances, they feel very paiseh for interrupting
the performances.
But that was in the past.
Hark Music has grown a lot since then...expanded to two
storeys...introduced a cafe...then took away the caf¨¦
and *tadah* transformed it to the performing studio you
see now. Well, Hark Music has come a long way since it
first started. They have a blog now, more opportunities
for students to display and cultivate their musical talents,
more rooms for more classes etc. Hark Music is a good
learning ground especially for beginners with no musical
background. I hope it will continue to expand and reach
out to all music lovers."

" Learning music at Hark Music has been a fun
and fruitful experience. It is really memorable as through
learning, I get to make new friends who share a common
interest. We sing, we laugh, we play and we have lots
of fun during lessons and even after. The memories I have
of our class learning, performing and celebrating certain
festivals like Christmas will always be remembered. I
feel really blessed to have such wonderful classmates

" I was an individual
with no prior vocal experience but a heart to back it
up. I looked through various brochures of music centres
for vocal lessons or training. When I chanced upon Hark
Music¡¯s pamphlet, one sentence caught my eye. ¡®You need
not possess a good voice to sing well. But you need exposure
and guidance to discover your true capabilities.¡¯ It
was through this that commenced my vocal journey in Hark
Music. On my introductory lesson I was introduced to my
instructor, Alex Tan, who was very understanding and helpful
in pursuing my musical goal. As I progressed and improved
vocally during the lessons through Alex¡¯s guidance, we
became good friends and he helped me with musical problems
outside the classroom through some of his experience.
All in all, I felt I was more motivated to pursue my passion
further and make an impression to my fellow peers through
Hark Music. "

" It is a great place for people who want to
learn singing as the school places a lot of emphasis on
the foundations of singing, getting the student well prepared
for higher levels of singing which most people do not
have. The most important thing is the instructors are
always open to advising students in their singing. On
top of that the school always provides a showcase for
students who wish to test their singing ability at the
end of each stage during their course. Such opportunities
are rare or not provided unless you are willing to pay
a hefty sum. Last but not least all the staff at Hark
Music are very friendly and adorable, making the whole
experience there more complete and fun. Furthermore
the school provides opportunities for students who wish
to pursue a career in the singing industry by having
talent search competitions. During the competitions,
contestants are further groomed by the instructors how
to be a better singer and also what showmanship is required.
Even if you do not get in at the end of the auditions,
the instructors will provide you feedback on how to
improve so that your chances of getting chosen will
increase in future competitions."
