"I truly enjoy learning at the Hark Music School. The teachers are equipped with the skills and techniques to impart their knowledge to the class according to each individual's learning speed and needs. Also, everyone is given the same opportunities to be on stage and showcase their talent! The many concerts and showcases in school allows us as students to have a platform to experience what its like to be on stage performing, before taking bigger challenges to perform in public. And not forgetting, the friendly administrative staffs that are always so cheerful and helpful, affirming that I made the right choice in developing my music interest in Hark Music."
Ivy Leow Kian Peng - Pop Piano & Vocal Student
"I enjoy singing and playing guitar since young and hope that I can perform on stage one day. Until I found Hark Music, my dream comes true and I am able to sing and play guitar solely on stage.

I am an individual student taking up guitar and vocal class. The instructors are professional and willing to impart their valuable knowledge and experience to me. I have also attended the "Accelerated Guitar Mastery" 3-days course. It gives me a rare opportunity to know more new friends who have the same passion for music; it gives me a chance to build up my self confidence to overcome my shyness and social phobia on stage."
Loo Fook Weng Albert - Vocal, Acoustic Guitar, Guitar ExpressWay Student

"Playing music is my passion since young. My dream is to be on stage playing and sharing beautiful music to the audiences. Time flies, I have been together with Hark Music for more than half a year now. The instructors are very patient and professional. I also make new friends who shared a common interest. My first impression of Hark Music is that the environment gives me a cozy feeling and the facilities were well equipped too. Hark Music is the place where people get their chance to perform on stage. It helps people to overcome stage fright and fulfill our dreams."
Lilian Lim Choon Bee - Pop Piano Student
"Grateful to my brother for introducing me to Hark Music, the only school that I will never drag my feet to! Having to learn with Hark versatile instructors and interact with music-lover students, not only did I learnt the craft of singing, playing, composing and performing, Hark allows me to explore the wonders in music in a comfortable and friendly environment. The confident and strong individual personality is the best reward I have gained along my learning journey. Hark Music is definitely an inspiring place to me where I can Let My Passion Make An Impression!"
Renee Woon Lu Ping - Vocal, Pop Piano, Songwriter 2-Yr Apprenticeship Student
"Learning singing at Hark has been a great experience. From the instructors to the facilities provided, everything is top-notch. If you want to bring your singing ability to the next level, then Hark is the place for you."
Cai Kiang Liang - Vocal and Guitar ExpressWay Student
"I started my music journey in Hark music since 2008 and I am enjoying every moment of it, till today! I feel that the school provides a very structured syllabus which helps us in building our music foundation. What most important, is the commitment and guidance my instructor, Maggie provides to every individual. Her passion, patience and teachings to us are beyond words of description! Her famous teachings- "Open mind, Open Heart" With passion, nothing is impossible!

In addition, there are many activities, competitions & auditions organized by Hark and through all these "outside of classroom" exposure in stage performances, it allows me to discover my capabilities and I continue to improve on myself in this music journey.

Hark Music is truly awesome! :) "

Joyce Lee - Vocal Student

"I first became a Hark Music student in the Accelerated Guitar Mastery Programme, now known as Guitar ExpressWay. My bigger interest though is in songwriting. Soon, I got my chance to be in Hark Music Songwriting Apprentice course. Here I learn the structure and skills of writing a good song from professional songwriters. I also made a lot of songwriting friends and wrote a lot of songs with them. The biggest joy of being a student at Hark Music is that you feel like part of the family. Here, you do not feel intimidated at all in your learning journey in music. You enjoy and pick up music no matter which level you are at. 作词人给了一首歌故事, 作曲人给了一首歌生命。"

Elkan Lim - SongWriter 2-Yr Apprenticeship and Guitar ExpressWay Student
"To be honest, when I first joined Hark Music due to the effective persuasion of 2 close friends, I haven't heard of Hark Music before. After taking lessons there for the last 1.5 years, I wondered why.. The professionalism, dedication and passion shown by the school and its instructors are probably unrivalled anywhere. I enjoyed every single step of my vocal learning journey and am continuing with individual classes even after my course ended. Courses are well-structured and instructors are patient, dedicated and sincere. This place is perfect for anyone who wants to grow musically or even just to improve their singing and thus enjoy leisure karaoke sessions more!"
Cheng Mingsen - Vocal Student
"Hark Music has shown me that learning can be of so much fun and effective. Lessons are simplified in such a way where one will be able to understand and absorb as much as possible in the shortest possible time. It has been a wonderful learning experience at Hark Music with the conducive environment, friendly staff and ever-motivating instructors.
I have never regret making that BIG step into Hark Music and signed up for my guitar course. Now I am in the electric guitar course to ROCK MY and maybe YOUR WORLD someday!! "

Jasmine Chong Xin Xin - Acoustic Guitar & Electric Guitar Student

" I was initially skeptical about joining Hark Music School. However, my experience has been otherwise. My guitar teacher has proven to be patient and creative. I am thankful that she has taken the time to cater to my needs by choosing specifically English songs. I have not regretted joining Hark, who has made music part of my life."
Angeline Kek - Acoustic Guitar Student
"Hark Music has really helped me widen my knowledge and nature my love for music. It crushed the idea of me being unable or even incapable or playing the guitar instead it inspired me to achieve and strive for what I used to think as the ‘’impossible’’. Not only so, Hark music has made my learning journey a pleasant and joyful one! Thank you Hark Music."
Jeremy Lee Ting Kok- Acoustic Guitar Student
"I have been learning guitar in Hark Music for almost 1 yr, and have been very satisfied with my improvement.

Even though I have been playing the guitar for the past 10 yrs, but my skills have been pretty "stagnant". I have always wanted to increase my level of skills in playing a song so that it will not sound so boring by repeating the same plucking/strumming styles throughout the song.

With the aid of the wonderfully crafted syllabus for the Hark Guitar course, i have learnt more plucking/ strumming styles and techniques. The instructors here are also very knowledgeable, skillful and friendly. We can also opt to choose our own songs and go through them in class too.

In general, I have been very happy with my improvements over the 1 year course in HARK. I am able to play a song more "freely" with the various styles and techniques. As the saying goes "学海无涯“, I hope to learn more from the various instructors and bring my level of skills to the next higher level."

Ivan Lee Jun Quan - Acoustic Guitar Student

"Friendly staff, nice teachers, conducive environment and full of fun and laughter……..That is what Hark Music is all about! The ‘Hark’ way of learning music has really impressed me. Its well-planned syllabus and unique teaching concept are brought to life by my Hark teachers. I never knew that playing the keyboard and composing songs can be so easy and of so much fun!
Jane, my keyboard teacher, is very encouraging and bubbly. She always encourages my class to explore widely, not just learning songs within the syllabus, but also explore songs that are outside the syllabus so as to further improve our keyboard skills. When I faced difficulties, she would patiently guide and never fail to come out with great ideas to solve the problems I am facing. Amos is friendly and approachable, despite being the music director. He never hesitates to render his help, and often gives me great advice on how to improve my song-writing skills.
Hark Music is also equipped with facilities like practice rooms, a recording studio and a performing studio to cater to the needs of the students. I simply love sitting on the cozy sofa in the performing studio, watching the performances and attending short courses organized by Hark Music.
Hark Music has made my music learning journey so fruitful. I enjoy my classes and got to know friends with the same interest. I am happy to be part of the ‘Hark’ family. Thank you Hark Music!!!"
Apple Koh - Vocal & Pop Piano & Song-writer 2-Yr Apprenticeship Student

"音乐白痴 or 没天分?
With almost no background in music, I signed up for the Pop Piano course with Hark Music in September 2009 and Contemporary Vocal class in March 2010, and the only regret I have is in not signing up earlier!

With instructors who are not only passionate towards music, but also passionate towards teaching, Hark Music is a place that allows me to explore and discover a part of me which was missing in the past (almost) 3 decades of my life. Rhythm inconsistency, tone insensitivity, and poor finger coordination are just some of the many issues I faced in my Pop Piano class. Often, I felt like calling it quits. But every time I met with my instructor, Raymond, he will always sit down patiently beside me to guide me, and he never failed to bring me back on track. The same goes for my Vocal class. My instructor, Shaun, was always able to come up with exercises to help me correct my mistakes, and give each of us additional drilling on the areas where we are weak in.

Apart from attending classes with like-minded classmates, Hark Music also organize (free) events like the recent Pop Piano Gathering, and the A-Mei themed concert, where we get to enjoy good music in the company of fellow students and the other instructors in Hark Music. On one hand, these activities give aspiring students an invaluable opportunity to present themselves, while on the other hand, the audience get inspired by these students’ courage and passion (and not forgetting, getting awed by the instructors’ performance). All in all, I’m glad to have started my music journey with Hark Music."

Roy Chua Chun Siang - Pop Piano Student

"Hark Music has really rekindle my passion in playing the keyboard/piano. They teach music in a systematic yet enjoyable way, making lessons fun and interesting. The friendly staff at Hark makes the place cozy and comfortable, a great place to learn! More importantly, Hark cater to the needs of the working adults who are only available after office hours or weekends. I particularly enjoy their student performances, giving students the opportunity to perform on stage what they had learned. I'm really appreciative of the efforts put in by Hark to create a place conducive for students to learn music, and providing an avenue for students to experience performing on stage in a cozy environment. Thank you and keep it up!"
Yeo Hwee Bin - Pop Piano Student
"The thing I like most about Hark is that the moment you step in, you instantly feel like you're family! The instructors and administrators are genuinely amiable and down-to-earth, yet always exuding keen professionalism. I joined Hark not quite knowing what to expect, but since embarking on my learning journey with them, I've received consistent remarks from friends that my singing has improved by considerable bounds. My instructors have been extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, display good pedagogy, and are always patient no matter how many countless times I forget to raise my soft palette or activate my diaphragm! I've learnt a tremendous amount from them, and I look forward to furthering my singing skills with Hark."
Lim Ho Beng - Vocal Student
"I've only been attending vocal lessons at Hark Music for 3-4 months and I have seen tremendous improvements in my singing! Of course, that's because I have a knowledgeable and masterful instructor who is also patient and friendly in his teaching and training. On top of that, Hark Music provides a great environment for practice - rooms well-equipped with the necessary tools for steady improvement in the trainee's skills; spatial corridors and even a library of songs to browse when waiting for lessons. With the additional point of having a group of generally helpful and friendly administrative staff, this is why Hark Music stands as my preferred music school."
Justin Chua - Vocal Student
"The past couple of years learning music at Hark has been a really fun and enjoyable experience – whether in group or individual classes. You guys have a well-structured and systematic syllabus, excellent facilities for lessons, practice, and student performances, and most important of all – the people factor.

My most heartfelt compliments to everyone – from Lydia and Feon at the front desk, who warmly greet everyone, and will diligently remind me about stuff, to my teachers Shi Ming (vocal) and Shawn Tan (guitar) for being great and flexible teachers who go the extra mile to help us with our personal interests, and to Amos and David and the other planners who work so hard to organize interesting events, programmes and lessons for the Hark Performing Team and students. And to my classmates and friends I’ve met at Hark – I’ve learned a lot and enjoyed myself with all of you too! You guys are awesome! Thanks!"

Quek Bufeng - Vocal & Acoustic Guitar Student

"A friend of mine introduced Hark Music to me when I showed the interest of learning guitar few years back, despite I was probably a bit too old to start picking up this instrument since my fingers are so conditioned to typing keyboard and tapping iPhone, they are just not that flexible anymore, LOL! Anyway, I finally joined the acoustic guitar class after getting a suitable timeslot and I specifically like the fact that you can start playing songs within the first few lessons! Can start to claim I'm a guitarist ya!

People here are nice and friendly, they take the effort of remembering student's name, which is a much commendable. Instructors are very patient and generous in sharing their knowledge with students. Songs that we learn in class are popular pop songs and there got to be one is your favorite too!

In a nutshell, Hark Music provides an extremely cozy environment for any music learner, be it beginner or experienced players/singers. Let's get started!"

Dennis Kee - Acoustic Guitar Student

" No amount of words can truly describe my experience at Hark Music. In my 2 years of Vocal and Guitar lessons with Hark Music, I have been fortunate to be under the tutelage of passionate instructors who not only teach us how to learn effectively, but also responsibly. This has been a useful asset that I am able to apply to my work and many aspects of life. "
Jack Lin Chi Cheng - Vocal & Acoustic Guitar Student
" I was really excited when after months of procrastination, I finally signed up with Hark Music. And I am glad I did.
Not only are the staff friendly, my vocal coach is also thorough and patient in her classes.
I can go on and on but the bottom line goes:
Here is what Quality is really about. I'm happy to be part of Hark Music and will never hesitate to bring my friends down!
Thank you Hark music!!!!!! "
Liting, Vocal Student
" Hark Music has really helped to broaden my music knowledge. I have taken almost every course available (Vocal, Keyboard and Guitar) and I can say that they have a very systematic way of teaching. The syllabus is very well-planned too! At the end of the course, one can definitely self-teach to further understand music. Afterall, learning is a life-long process! "
Joel Ong, Vocal, Pop Piano & Acoustic Guitar Student

" Hark Music, a peaceful and conducive learning environment for music learners. I started my music journey here since April 2008. The first impression it gave me was that it felt like home, a place with no pressure or burden.
People here are nice and friendly and instructors are patient and knowledgeable. Wonderful facilities are provided which caters not only to the students, but also benefits the public. Thank you Hark Music for the wonderful touch of music."
Jelina - Acoustic Guitar Student
" 1e&a 2e&a 3e&a 4e&a??..breathe breathe breathe breathe breathe??This is what has been ingrained in me in the guitar and vocal singing classes I??ve attended in these 2 years of my music journey with Hark Music. From a guy who thought that he was a music retard, to a person now who can stand up on stage and play live music to an audience. That is what Hark Music has transformed me into??.

The ultimate aim of me learning music is to be able to stand up on a stage and strum and sing to a crowd. Hark Music is the school that has a performing theatre for me to fulfill this dream. Ever since I was drafted into the performing team, I have always looked forward in performing at the mini concerts held at the performing studio. The school is planning bigger events for us, this enthusiastic and talented performing group of students, so I am looking forward to using music to touch the audiences?? hearts"

Mar-vin Ong, Vocal & Acoustic Guitar Student

" I??ve been with Hark Music for about 2 years. Their friendly and approachable staff plus the warm and conducive environment makes music-learning a whole new experience for me. I look forward to classes every week. People from all walks of life, with the same passion and dreams of music gather here. Definitely, I??ve made many friends during my stay. The patience, motivation, encouragement and guidance from the instructors make it an enriching and enjoyable musical journey throughout. They are always there to guide us along. What's more wonderful is the availability of the performing studio for us to experience the stage feel as part of the learning process and the opportunity to perform with audiences. Thank you Hark Music for all these extra benefits which enhance the passion in us to strive harder in music."
Jinghui, Vocal & Pop Piano Student

" My journey with Hark Music began in July 2007 when I took up their guitar course starting from the fundamentals. Subsequently, after an audition for the Hark Performing Team, I got through and had a chance to work with my fellow team mate. Of course, everything wasn't all smooth-sailing from the start, but because of the support of instructors, classmates, and my team mate, everything went on track gradually. Cheers to their helpful and supportive spirit!

Their facilities are complete with practice rooms, a recording studio, and on top of that, a performing studio. These are readily available, despite "peak-period" times, where the rooms could be fully booked which is understandable. The instruments, specifically the keyboards and guitars, are adequate for our practice and lessons.

The instructors are well qualified, and all are most willing to give advice anytime despite not being officially taught by them. One good thing is that the school is not fully commercialized such that it does not tend to sacrifice passion for profit. Events like the Open Stage and the Student's Showcase give students a chance to get exposure on stage. This opportunity is rare and hardly found in other schools.

In summary, I feel that Hark Music is not only a place to pick up music skills, but a warm place where you can make friends and meet people who are passionate about music too. "
Tan Su Teck, Acoustic Guitar Student

" I have enjoyed singing since young and soon realised that singing is more than just having a nice voice. That was when I decided to join Hark Music to learn proper singing techniques. Though I am taking group lessons, the instructors here recognise that every student is unique and they always take time to address each individual's problems. They are always willing to help us to improve. Being a student performer in the Hark Music Performing Team, I also get to apply what I have learnt in the classroom to real life stage performances. I constantly learn new things after every lesson and performance, which has allowed me to benefit tremendously since I joined Hark Music. "

Loh Siew Yong, Vocal Student

" Not only is Hark Music a fun place for me to develop my music interests, it also provides a dynamic and effective method in teaching its students. The programs and sessions offered also seek to help students gain much needed performing experience. Such a system and program definitely gives all Hark Music students a real headstart!"

Cedric Tay, Vocal & Pop Piano Student

" Hark Music has been exciting and enriching as a music school. With frequent performance opportunities and a high level of professionalism, it is indeed the right way to go for both music newbies and masters. Its staff are well-trained and talented and equally dedicated to all aspects of the school. Its fees are also reasonable and this gives it an advantage as opposed to other music schools who charge exorbitant fees. It has great facilities and this eases newcomers into performing and recording. It never fails to provide a cosy atmosphere and friendly employees are always available. Overall, my course at Hark Music has been an incredible experience and is just what I was looking for in a music school."
Kim Sankar, Vocal Student

" I've just joined Hark Music for nearly two months now and enjoy every moment I spend in class with my instructor and classmates. Everyone in the school including administrators is so friendly."
Li Wen, Vocal Student

" I have been a part of Hark Music for the past four years. I must say that it has changed a lot in these four years. I remembered the first time I went to Hark Music they only occupied the second floor. There wasn't even a first floor! And performances are held on the second floor, so everytime students came for lesson when there are performances, they feel very paiseh for interrupting the performances.
But that was in the past.
Hark Music has grown a lot since then...expanded to two storeys...introduced a cafe...then took away the caf?? and *tadah* transformed it to the performing studio you see now. Well, Hark Music has come a long way since it first started. They have a blog now, more opportunities for students to display and cultivate their musical talents, more rooms for more classes etc. Hark Music is a good learning ground especially for beginners with no musical background. I hope it will continue to expand and reach out to all music lovers."
Chan Yong Kang, Vocal, Pop Piano, Song Composing Student

" Learning music at Hark Music has been a fun and fruitful experience. It is really memorable as through learning, I get to make new friends who share a common interest. We sing, we laugh, we play and we have lots of fun during lessons and even after. The memories I have of our class learning, performing and celebrating certain festivals like Christmas will always be remembered. I feel really blessed to have such wonderful classmates and good instructors. I??m glad they have friendly and knowledgeable instructors who make learning enjoyable."
Ong Ying Ting, Vocal, Pop Piano, Acoustic Guitar Student

" I've found that Hark Music's approach in teaching guitar playing very suitable for people like myself who wants to learn to play pop guitar rather than playing the classical way. Furthermore, the instructors are very friendly and an inspiration for beginners who have passion for music and guitar playing."
Andrew Ho, Guitar Student
" I was an individual with no prior vocal experience but a heart to back it up. I looked through various brochures of music centres for vocal lessons or training. When I chanced upon Hark Music??s pamphlet, one sentence caught my eye. ??You need not possess a good voice to sing well. But you need exposure and guidance to discover your true capabilities.?? It was through this that commenced my vocal journey in Hark Music. On my introductory lesson I was introduced to my instructor, Alex Tan, who was very understanding and helpful in pursuing my musical goal. As I progressed and improved vocally during the lessons through Alex??s guidance, we became good friends and he helped me with musical problems outside the classroom through some of his experience. All in all, I felt I was more motivated to pursue my passion further and make an impression to my fellow peers through Hark Music. "
Ezekiel - Vocal Student

" It is a great place for people who want to learn singing as the school places a lot of emphasis on the foundations of singing, getting the student well prepared for higher levels of singing which most people do not have. The most important thing is the instructors are always open to advising students in their singing. On top of that the school always provides a showcase for students who wish to test their singing ability at the end of each stage during their course. Such opportunities are rare or not provided unless you are willing to pay a hefty sum. Last but not least all the staff at Hark Music are very friendly and adorable, making the whole experience there more complete and fun.

Furthermore the school provides opportunities for students who wish to pursue a career in the singing industry by having talent search competitions. During the competitions, contestants are further groomed by the instructors how to be a better singer and also what showmanship is required. Even if you do not get in at the end of the auditions, the instructors will provide you feedback on how to improve so that your chances of getting chosen will increase in future competitions."
